Syllabi

Syllabi are an outline of objectives or topics to be covered within an educational course. The following examples were prepared by the professor(s) of each class. The syllabi are separated by target audience and collection of common themes.

A Course Syllabus

A syllabus is basically a contract between the instructor and the students for a specific course.

A syllabus generally consists of the following items.

Orientation to the course.
Contact information.
A listing of the course topics (e.g., lecture titles).
Rules for the operation of the course.
General information on assignments and grading.
Specific policies, particularly as they relate to grading.

Many institutions require that a course syllabus is available to everyone.
